Since obtaining an Arts/Law degree at the University of Tasmania, achieving Honours in both components, Alex commenced practicing in New South Wales before returning to her home state of Tasmania. Alex has over 20 years experience as a solicitor working in the field of civil litigation.

Most recently, Alex has been a Partner at HWL Ebsworth, in both the Health and Insurance teams.

Alex has experience in a wide range of personal injury litigation including public and product liability claims, motor vehicle accidents and workers compensation.

She has broad experience acting for medical practitioners and allied health professionals in the defence of claims for professional negligence; disciplinary proceedings; inquests and in dealing with statutory bodies including Medicare, the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme, the Integrity Commission, the Anti-Discrimination Commission, the Office of the Health Complaints Commission and in relation to the State Service Act 2000.
