PROFESSIONAL PROFILE

Andrew was born and bred in Hobart. He graduated from the University of Tasmania in 1989 and commenced at Dobson Mitchell & Allport in 1990.  He remained there for 25 years, including 12 as partner/director, practising in the commercial litigation area. This included advising Councils and  developers in areas of planning and environment, and liquidators and  administrators in insolvency and reconstruction. He also advised on  professional negligence and conduct.

He was managing partner and also the first managing director following the incorporation of the practice.

He has served on the Board of Legal Education and is an author of Civil Procedure Tasmania and a member of the Supreme Court Rules Committee.

He is married with 2 adult children, and spends his spare time rowing  generally slowly on the Derwent.
