PROFESSIONAL PROFILE

Jessie was called to the bar and started practicing out of Derwent & Tamar after receiving the inaugural Young Woman Lawyer scholarship; a grant designed to assist a young practitioner commence working as a barrister.

She embarked on her legal career working in criminal law at Craig Rainbird Barristers and Solicitors for three intensive years. During that time she developed her advocacy skills, appearing for multiple clients on an almost daily basis. She has had many successes appearing for clients as sole counsel in trials in the Supreme Court.

Having recently completed her pupillage she currently accepts briefs in most areas, criminal defence and prosecution, family, and civil and works across the state.
Her interests outside of the law include cycling and exercising, being outdoors in the sun and travelling.

2010 – Graduated Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws UTAS

2014 – Graduated Tasmanian Legal Practice Course and admitted to Supreme Court of Tasmania

2017 – Commenced Pupillage at Derwent & Tamar Chambers – Admitted to High Court of Australia
